Sehome Drama Presents Flowers for Algernon
Come into the life of Charlie Gordon, past and present. The interactions he has with those around him and the relationship he forms with a mouse named Algernon will take you through an emotional journey: innocence, love, laughter, and compassion.
This timeless story takes place in the 1960’s in New York. Thirty-two year-old Charlie is a mentally handicapped adult who wants more than anything to be “smart”. He is a character rolling through the bumps of life after receiving an operation that should help him grow mentally.
As life slips from simple to confusing, Charlie takes us through his emotional ride with his progress reports. We see in his life the story of a man’s best interest put aside for the sake of a science experiment. Vicki Chaney directs this touching play by David Rodgers based on the popular book by Daniel Keyes.
Showing Friday December 11th and Saturday December 12th at 7:30pm, and Sunday December 13th at 2:00pm at the Sehome Little Theatre, 2700 Bill McDonald Pkwy. Tickets $8 for adults, $5 for students and seniors. Tickets available at the door.
